An epiphone ultra 2.....the black 1 of course...

The goal of the Ultra-II was to create a more versatile guitar that was capable of not only real Les Paul tone, but also acoustic-like qualities but without adding a lot of controls and changing the overall appearance of the legendary Les Paul. Unlike other instruments that attempt to create a completely new guitar design, Epiphone went about this differently by starting with a proven, electric guitar design and adding to it.

At the heart of the Ultra-II is the NanoMag pickup. Referring to its small size and its composition, the NanoMag is a completely new kind of magnetic pickup that combines 3 Samarium-Cobalt magnets with on-board, active electronics to produce a low-impedance pickup with absolute linear response and an uncharacteristically wide frequency range. Voiced specifically for the Ultra-II, the NanoMag is embedded in the fingerboard after the 22nd fret. Positioned at this harmonic-rich "sweet spot, the Nanomag is able to capture all the harmonics - from the lowest to the highest - with incredible accuracy. All with ZERO noise or artificial coloration. This again is different from all other acoustic pickup technology.

it features 2 pickups, the alnico classic humbuckers(the two big golden ones there for those of you who dont know)and a Shadow NanoMag. Combined with the humbuckers, the nanomag enhances the frequency and tone of the les paul ultra 2...it has two outputs that can provide that killer stereo sound(but u need 2 amplifiers too!hahas..) 1 output is for the nanomag and the other is for everything. It also has another electronic for the nanomag pickup

damn the guitar,the strap,the amp,the hard case..

it all costs 1118.05-1200...at least 200 lesss!hahas

tats all folks!

Battle of the Brands: Adidas Vs. Nike

Adidas and Nike are both Kings of the sports and street wear markets when it comes to training and clothing. Who would win a battle of the brands?

For years these to brands have been rivals whether in shoes, clothing, bags, sponsorship or fame.

Adidas
Any fan of Adidas trainers will tell you the brand’s appeal lies in its ability to design contemporary, high-quality trainers with a hip twist. Since the 1990’s, when Adidas was the brand of choice for hip hop, it has retained massive street credibility with stars and fans alike. Each season the Adidas design team come up with even cooler styles than the last, ranging from understated slimline suede sneakers, to in-your-face retro trainers with acid bright colours and chunky soles. Whilst most people are happy to snap up these new designs, some hardcore Adidas fans are prepared to pay up to thousands of pounds for original vintage sneakers in good condition, or rare limited edition designs.

Nike
Whilst Adidas has its roots in Europe (the brand was created by German cobblers in the 1920’s), super-brand Nike is all-American. Top of the league in terms of sales, Nike is an all-sports brand that uses leading sports champions like Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan to promote its products. Unlike Adidas, which is content to let its retro styling do the talking, Nike has claimed its pole position through its heavy use of celebrity brand endorsements. However, its swoosh logo is no less iconic than the Adidas trefoil and its triple stripes, and has spawned a myriad of copy-cat versions across the globe. And the Nike range is just as varied and versatile as that of Adidas. Its offerings range from high-performance sports sneakers in simple white, to brightly coloured retro 80’s hi-top trainers. Whereas Adidas features its simple logo on its clothing range, Nike likes to use its famous slogan ‘Just do it’. No one can dispute that Nike really has claimed victory over the trainers market.

Adidas Vs Nike –Which Do You You Choose?
Whether you opt for Adidas or Nike is simply a matter of personal taste. Do you love big, bold brash American brands? Then Nike is for you. Or are you very British, and prefer your brands cool and low-key, letting the style rather than a celebrity do the talking? In which case, time to stock up your shoe closet with Adidas. No matter which brand you opt for, you’ll have hundreds of designs to choose from, and your only problem could be deciding how many pairs you can fit into your wardrobe.

Are you an "Impossible Is Nothing"(Adidas) person or a "Just do it person"(Nike)?

This is an article about the epic battle between the two,

Battle of the Brands: the epic battle of Adidas vs. Nike All-Stars
Posted by Pardeep Toor | It's Just Sports November 18, 2008 12:00PM
Categories: Basketball

I struggle with the concept of athletes branding themselves with endorsements - sometimes essentially resembling more of a logo than an actual person. I have a pretty loose definition of what constitutes "morals" or "ethics" and I'm no saint myself so I have absolutely no right to judge others - neither do any of you. In fact, judgment is the root of all the problems in the world so to judge is fairly irresponsible.

All that being said, it's hard for athletes turn down millions of dollars in exchange for free clothes and shoes - even if those items are made in third world countries by laboring adolescents.

Still, this may sound awful, but when it comes to basketball, I remove my social conscious from my mind and soul and just absorb all of its greatness. I don't know if the name brands care to get in the good social graces of the masses but I know they can do it fairly easily by setting up an epic charity basketball game that will rival the Trojan War and the Mahabharat - a battle of the brands. Combining television rights, jersey sales and tickets where all the proceeds go towards charities or fund revolutions in Africa.

It would be fairly simple. Adidas with a lineup with Chauncey Billups, Gilbert Arenas, Tracy McGrady, Kevin Garnett and Timmy Duncan would face Team Nike consisting of Chris Paul, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Rasheed Wallace and Amare Stoudamire (I didn't include Kobe Bryant because he would take it way too seriously and ruin the fun for everybody).

Converse (Dwyane Wade) and Reebok (Allen Iverson) will be the refs and a good time will be had by all.

Since I'm sure that this dream will never come true, I've decided to write a fictional tale of how this game would play out.

Pre-Game

Rasheed Wallace gathers team Nike for his pre-game antics.

Unfortunately, Lebron is the only one who gets into it because dude's got moves.

On the other sideline, Kevin Garnett is slamming a folding chair repeatedly against his head, Timmy is sitting and watching and Gilbert is in the stands making bets with fans.

In the ceremonial opening tip, Michael Jordan defies all odds and appears wearing an Obama hope t-shirt, (or any other candidate he fancies), a peace hat and pants advocating the legalization of marijuana nationwide. Everyone is in disbelief because for the first time they see that Jordan is actually a human being and not a robot. His now visible beating red heart spreads love throughout the arena with each thumping beat and everyone is happy.

1st Quarter

KG wins the opening tip because Sheed doesn't value possessions so he barely jumps. Amare probably should have taken the tip but he was too busy adjusting his shades.

Billups and Gil' share duties in the back court. Every time Billups walks the ball up, they pound it in to either KG or Timmy for an easy basket, but each time Gil gets his hands on the ball he jacks up an early three. KG gives Gil' the "Jose look" but Gil is too busy thinking about an awesome Smurfs episode he saw last night.

On the other end, the LeBron and Paul backcourt is dominating Billups and Gil, but they are being funneled into KG and Timmy keeping the game close.

End of first quarter - Nike 35 Adidas 29

2nd Quarter

Gil opens the quarter taking 10 consecutive shots and missing eight of them. In disgust, coach Dwight Howard (sorry forgot to introduce the coaches) yanks him in favor of himself, strips off his suit and is wearing his Superman gear again!

Unfortunately, David Stern is in attendance and he has a strict code of conduct for uniforms and a cape is unacceptable - even for a charity game. He's a strict dude. I can't wait until he bans tattoos in the NBA - only tanned, pampered smooth silky arms for NBA players in 2012.

For no reason, Nike coach Steve Nash starts singing "Summer of '69" by Bryan Adams. Don't worry about it, as a fellow Canadian, I can vouch for him. It's completely normal for all Canadians to have Adams' music engraved in our souls.

In true NBA fashion, Dee-Wade and AI call a close game and we're tied 70-70 going into the half.

Half-Time

The halftime entertainment consists of Tiger Words making a surprise appearance and announcing that he will buy the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Why? Not sure really. It would make sense to me if I was Tiger Woods.

3rd Quarter

'Sheed opens up the third quarter by being tee-ed up by his new little buddy, AI, for cursing Joe Dumars for not drafting Carmelo Anthony in 2003. Iverson says he won't hear anything more about Dumars, the man who has rejuvenated his career and given him the best chance to win a championship in his twilight.

To counteract 'Sheed, Tim Duncan spends the entire third quarter in this position complaining to the refs about how he can't handle Amare off the dribble. D-Wade kindly tells him that he's old and slow, but things will be okay when he joins him San Antonio after the 2010 season.

McGrady is clutching his back.

Melo hasn't really shown up for the game yet because there are people in the stands heckling him. It looks like the hecklers are from his hometown, Baltimore, and they keep telling him to "come back" - he just wants to run away from all his problems.

4th Quarter

Gilbert is still jacking ill-advised shots so Howard decides to just bench him and play four-on-five to open the fourth quarter. Oddly enough, the team Adidas defense improves and the they go on a 10-0 run.

LeBron James starts driving and dishing and after every missed three by 'Sheed he starts yelling: "Where my Boobey at? Where my Boobey?"

Adidas is down by one, 121-120 and Howard finally decides to put Gil back in the game. Cold off the bench, Gil rocks up and nails a three-pointer from half court to give Adidas the win. Why? Because he's sweet like that and we miss him.

Enough money is raised to make sure every single person in the world has shoes and the world lives happily ever after ... font-style: italic;">Most of the guitar lovers playing guitar for few years but yet restless with their advancement. They look like yet support at the starting level and can't love their playing. This mainly caused by most of them wear't construct upward a powerful basis at the begining. I establish that some of the guitar learners still just playing guitar for one to two years but are more best than then many that playing for over five years. This is the basis problems. Me myself was an instance when I started playing guitar lengthy moment ago.

The secrets of learning guitar are largely home on the basis. To get a better basis for subsequent success,we need three significant factors :-

1. Listening:

Ear education is a MUST fundamental education that every guitar learner should get. But most of them avert this as rather a dull and time-consuming work. Without a better listening, we are incapable to go to high degree. To surmount this problems, I indicate that guitar learners may select one of the easily known Ear Training software on internet. I establish that there are few truly better software that will better your listening measure by measure and truly FUN. You look like playing game when you hear.

2. Daily use:

(Both fingers and ears) === Daily use is another significant matter we should make. (Ex. fingers exercises, use for the fundamental scales) I indicate that beginners use PENTATONIC SCALES at the starting level because this scales are the almost easy scales that simply have 5 tones. Try to practise 20 to 30 minutes daily. Remember that still just 20 minutes of RELAX and CONCERNTRATION DAILY use is more efficient than few hours of unconstant use.

3. Look for an instructor:

You may discover either personal guitar instructor or guitar lessons
on internet. For my opinions, hear guitar from internet maybe best because of the convinience of moment and cheaper. There is just one doubt of learning from internet that what lessons to select, what lessons are truly make. Myself as a guitar fan have been playing guitar for 15 years.

I do the investigation on guitar lessons from internet over 5 years for myself and my groups. I've spent a plenty of money for it. Recently I just built upward my own less network page telling guitar lovers a few better guitar lessons that truly make and would care to share with all of you."

Extracted from: http://blog.worldvillage.com/arts/most_important_thing_in_learning_guitar.html

This is a poem by Jose Murguia titled 'my guitar' for your enjoymnet

"my guitar

my guitar has six strings,
it gets lonely when nobody sings,
musical and magical,
my pick makes my guitar sound so magical,
and no matter were i go shes right there,
when i play my guitar people always stare,
we sound so good together,
i hope my guitar will stay with me forever,
my guitar has six strings.
but it gets lonely when no one sings,
my guitar is never out of tune,
it doesnt matter who i play it too,
wether you're happy, mad or feeling blue,
just remember my guitar will help you get thru."

1/11/09

jose murguia

Live music,Love Music,Breathe guitar!

Music.(another 1 for english homework)
It inspires.
It relaxes your mind .
And it calms your soul.
Most of all its the best remedy for STRESS

Music can change what we feel in our souls. It can release us from sorrow and distress, encourage and motivate us, or slow us down and soothe us. Not only does our soul respond to music, but, as researchers are finding out, so does our body. Music can change our lives mentally and physically no matter what our stage in life: baby, child, teen, adult or elderly.

Most of us know that music affects how we feel. It can change how we feel or it can strengthen or weaken what we feel. If we're happy, a piece of fast, joyful music can strengthen that emotion or if we're sad it can bring some joy into our hearts.

I love music. I've always loved music. I don't know why,but something about it makes me feel so free. Like cookie samples at the Famous Amos. Just kidding. Anyway, in music, there are so many ways to express yourself through singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. Me, I know how to play the guitar and sing. Some days I wonder what it would be like NOT to have music in my life.

Music is passionate and one of the most beautiful forms of expressing in life. We can all associate songs to different situations in our life. Other times I feel inspired and I let my imagination fly, listening to songs that I wish were sang by my band and i. Sometimes I just feel depressed and I listen, letting all those negative emotions out my system through the movement of my body, my spirit gets uplifted, as if I am disconnected from reality and entering my own world.

Last but not least, is an article

Titled "Music Changes Lives,-And saves Them"

 By Julian Lloyd Webber
Last Updated: 8:49PM GMT 05 Nov 2008

"Can music really play a part in reducing knife crime, drug addiction and all the rest of society's ills, asks Julian Lloyd Webber? Yes, it can, and politicians are finally waking up to the fact

Two weeks ago, a unique event took place at London's City Hall. Unheralded and predictably ignored by the media, it was hosted by Boris Johnson's live-wire arts director Munira Mirza and - due to the response to this unprecedented occurrence - what began life as a low-key breakfast meeting soon turned into a full-blown conference.

What could have prompted this overwhelming reaction? A discussion on music education, believe it or not, and the tangible buzz in the air was undoubtedly due to the mayor's initiative proving for once and for all that the importance of allowing children access to music has transcended the political divide.

Arriving hot on the heels of Labour's ground-breaking £332 million for music education in 2008-11, the meeting was a triumph for all those musicians, journalists and educationists who have worked so hard to hammer home the crucial part that music can play in young people's lives.

It must have been particularly rewarding for Marc Jaffrey who, having spearheaded the Government's Music Manifesto since its inception four years ago, last week moved on to pastures new. Faced with initial scepticism about the extent of Labour's financial commitment, Jaffrey steered the Manifesto to the point where it made political sense for the Government to announce its landmark settlement for music education.

Of that money, £9 million has been set aside for In Harmony, the social project which I chair and which has music at its heart. Inspired by Venezuela's miraculous El Sistema programme, In Harmony will provide free instruments and free music lessons for children in at least three of the most deprived areas of England beginning next January.

In Venezuela, 300,000 children have had their lives saved by El Sistema, and they are happy to tell their tales. "I'd either be dead or still smoking crack like when I was eight," said one french-horn player from its flagship Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra. "Joining the orchestra changed not only my life but my whole family's. My father was drinking far too much, and my brothers had dropped out of school. When I got hooked on my instrument, my father stopped drinking, and, one by one, my brothers went back to school," said a trumpeter.

Prevention is far cheaper than cure and, judging by the level of applications to run the programme in England, the sooner In Harmony goes nationwide the sooner the Government will save a lot of money.

•?One misconception I am hoping In Harmony will correct is the perception that teaching music is somehow less important than performing it. I owe everything to my teachers.

My first, at the age of four, was a lovely old lady named Alison Dalrymple who specialised in teaching young children the cello and who must have been doing something right because another of her pupils was Jacqueline du Pré. When I was nine, I entered the Royal College of Music's Junior Department, which, in those days, was populated almost entirely by pupils from non-fee-paying schools. My cello teacher was an attractive twentysomething South African (sadly married) called Rhuna Martin, on whom I predictably developed a crush.

More importantly, she caused me to fall in love with the cello. Beyond the call of duty, she took a tiresome little boy to a performance by the first great cellist I ever heard - Pierre Fournier, who, as it happens, became my teacher many years later.

I hadn't believed it was possible for a cello to sound like that and it changed my life - just one small example of the power of music when allied to inspirational teaching."

There you have it folks!!!!

Let the music soar through your soul!!!!

Hello everyone, this post is for my english homework!!!!
vs 1i won second in floorball inter-class games last year,I was happy yet sad,
I was an unbalanced equation.Second.First was a goal too far away, yet second....
this was the recount through my eyes....

it was the post-exam activities,it was either floorball or soccer. Two sports that I loved,
it was an obvious choice;...Floorball.
My team consisted of two floorballers;Syahid and I. We had 6 other players too;Ryan(whom I lent my spare stick to.It was a blast enemy.A vey solid stick. And, he put it too good use),Aditya(who cleared the ball dangerously but his speed helped us,alot),Hamzah( whom i asked to body push more since he has the size.)LeeJiang(who was quite good.)Wang Kai(who needed to run more) and Keeve our goalie(He was good!!)

So that day, was the first time in a long time Syahid and I picked up our sticks,we made our way to the hall.We had been here, played matches here, but yet we still felt the butterflies in our stomach.Just like it was our first time playing.Initially I made Syahid the captain and me, vice-captain.In the end, he was not telling the players what to do, so I took over. The 8 classes 1A-1I,were jumbled up and seperated into two groups, group A and B,we were in group A.The first match was played among 1A and a amature class. We saw Haziq(Who also is a floorballer) in top form scoring 4 goals, everybody went "wow...".After his match was my,no,our match. We were going up against 1E,who's form teacher was our art teacher. He said we would get trashed, when it was our turn,Syahid and I of course were playing first. We played with Aditya and Ryan. This was our starting line. When i felt the air rush through my face ,the grip of the stick, the way you had to push your leg muscles till they scream when you wanted the ball, was amazing. We defeated them with the score five-nil.Easy.Syahid scored 1 and I scored for the next game. The sore was 6-1 in favour of us,although the players played dirty,we pulled through.I already had five goals to my name, the next game against 1A,the the most challenging game. They scored first with Haziq shooting from far and Keeve, who was not prepared let it in.I equalized soon after .Haziq scored again and Syahid equalized.Seriously, the 1A keeper was very, very good, and their defence was tight,Haziq scored again,we were down 3-2.With only 1 minutes 27 seconds on the clock the referee awarded us with a free hit,a little bit further than the corner of the goalpost. The defenders had to stay 3 meters away.Syahid was in front of me less than 15 centimeters away.I passed to him and he returned it to me and I did an airhook.I took a glance, the ball had rolled at the back of the net!We equalized!A draw was better than a loss. When only 1 second left,we were awarded another free hit,it was 60centimeters away from the goal, very close, but Haziq and 3 other big guys blocked it making it impossible to score,Syahid stood by the corner of the goalpost and beckoned for me to pass the ball to him,I faked a shot and passed the ball to him.He flicked it in.Goal! The referee blew the whistle n the buzzer went off,we did it.We were the champions of group A,with no loss,yet....

In the preliminary round,we were up against 1H.There were 3 very good floorballers from that class, all who were playing,Kurum(he's name is actually kurumbesu),Matthew and Ubaidah.

Initially my instincts took over and i threw my stick to tackle Ubaidah, woah, what an underhanded move."Focus Adli!"I told myself. And they scored soon after that.I was very pressurized as the rest of the class who had participated in soccer(and lost) came to watch us play.Darrius, who was the best floorballer in our class at that time kept shouting orders at me.Soon,i lost my cool and shouted for him to "shut up".It took a long time for me to equalize, but the they scored another goal again and Syahid equalized. The match ended with the score at 2-2.There could be no draw as one group had to play for the championship match,so we moved on to a penalty shootout.I had taken the shot and missed ,it hit the goalie's shoulder(he told me that my shot hurt). Then Syahid took his and he scored,Ubaidah, missed his,Kurum missed and matthew scored. If im not mistaken, Ryan scored.Therefor,we won!We were confirmed second! We reached our goal! Why not first you may ask.it's because the match that was going to decide who was first or second was between 1I and 1F,the direct school admission class,im not looking down on them but that class has some seriously good florballers;Akmal,Chee Yong,Ray,Venu and Gerald, all whom of course, played. We lost with the score at 11-1.pathetic....but second,im happy yet sad...<div
